AdvancedBenchmarking (AI)

Enhanced Benchmarking Screen
We have added the Year-over-Year (YoY) graphs to the Benchmarking tab. These graphs display both the selected provider’s data and the comparison data for a selected metric for the previous and current years through the most recently ended month. Each graph also displays the previous and current years’ percentages for the provider with an increase or decrease arrow to indicate the current trend of the selected metric.

Go to the Benchmarking tab in AdvancedInsight™.
1. Click the graph you want to view.
2. Click the metric you want displayed by the graph.

Note: The current year’s percentage and YoY percentage difference are calculated and displayed in the metric. The previous year’s percentage is only calculated and displayed on the graph.
You can further investigate the data used to create the graphs by hovering over a point on the graph with your cursor. This action displays the provider’s data and the comparison data for that point both on the graph and with details in a tool tip.

Print Graphs
The screen showing the graphs can be printed using the Print icon in the header.

Note: The print function on the Benchmarking screen is a screen print. When you click the icon and the print dialog opens, verify that the orientation is Landscape in the Preferences. Printing in Portrait orientation will cut off the right side of the page. There may be other print settings you will need to adjust depending on your printer. You cannot print the graphs to a PDF output.

Metrics Use Full Time Equivalents
Except for Billing, the percentiles and the percent ranking values in the metrics and graphs are normalized by calculating a Full Time Equivalent (FTE) for each provider profile. This prevents the data from being skewed in comparisons for providers who did not work all
workdays during the month.

Benchmarking calculates an FTE factor for each provider profile by counting a provider’s days worked during the month divided by the total number of workdays for the practice during the month. This FTE factor is used to adjust the provider profile’s data for the comparisons.

This method accounts for weekends and holidays because those days are excluded from the number of workdays in a month.

“The money I have invested in AdvancedMD is miniscule compared to the return. I have never been more efficient – ever – in my professional life as I am now.”

“[Our] patients are very well-educated and well-informed, and they want to see results quickly. The practice has to run extremely efficiently and be accessible to them. The nice thing about [AdvancedMD] is it has allowed me to be more efficient both in and out of the office. Now I don’t have to come back into the office, which is great for my family and everything else. It saves me a lot of time – probably an hour a day on the three days I work in the second office.”
