Frequently Asked Questions
1. Password Reset FAQ
Who can help me reset my password?
If you are the owner of the account, you can contact AdvancedMD support and after a verification email, they will be happy to help. If you are not the Owner of the Account, you will need to contact your Account Owner or another Admin within the Account to help reset your password for you.
Are there any resources to help me reset my password?
Yes! For a step by step guide on how to reset your password, follow the NEST links to AdvancedMD Password Resets. We have also allowed you to set security questions that when answered correctly will allow you to reset your password.
Why is it when I call into Support, they are unable to help me reset my password?
Due to HIPAA regulations, and for the security of our clientele, AdvancedMD support has opted to only reset the password of the Account Owner (sometimes known as the Admin of the Account). And this only through email verification that they are indeed speaking directly with the Account Owner. All other password reset requests will have to go through the Account Owner or another Admin within the account who has access to the User Setup under Utilities.
Why am I required to reset my password so frequently?
Here at AdvancedMD, we consider patient security one of our highest priorities and wish to keep every one of our client’s patients as safe and secure as possible. Because of this, we require regular password updates to provide an extra layer of security for our clients.
Why aren’t my security questions working?
Security questions are a preventive measure taken to help reset a client’s account. When a User has been locked out of their account, the system refuses security questions in case of any fraudulent efforts to access Patient Health Records.
2. MACRA/MIPS FAQ
Do I need to participate?
For 2018 – go to QPP.CMS.Gov > MIPS > Check Participation Status—enter your individual NPI
For 2019 – If you were required to participate in prior years – you probably have to in 2019 (CMS hasn’t updated with 2019 status yet)
Until CMS updates their site with 2019 participation status—you can look at their requirements to participate:
1 – CMS has also added new Clinician Types for 2019
In addition to Physicians, PAs, NPs, Clinical Nurse Specialists, CRNAs – which are the Clinician Types required to participate in the past – CMS has added new Clinician Types for 2019: Clinical Psychologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Registered Dietitians/Nutrition Professionals
2 – Have you exceeded the low volume thresholds?
$90,000 in Medicare Part B allowable charges
200 Medicare Part B beneficiaries
200 Medicare Part B covered professional services
If you meet #1 & #2 above – you should plan on being required to participate in 2019.
Where can I know what is going to be required for MIPS in 2019?
2019 Final Rule (please don’t print – it’s 852 pages)
2019 Final Rule Executive Summary
2019 Final Rule Overview Factsheet
We are watching their Resource Library for updates that will include the 2019 Quality Benchmarks and the 2019 Quality Specifications (pdfs that are handy when submitting claims based or Registry/MIPS CQM Quality measures).
The MACRA Posse here at AdvancedMD has also been working hard to get this question answered by updating our materials from 2018 to 2019 requirements. In NEST you can currently find:
