AI charting. Improved front office workflow.

Release Tiers: Feb 3, 11 & 19

Practice Management

Enhanced Scheduler
We’ve enhanced the Scheduler and associated screens with a completely new interface and features. Workflows are more intuitive and loading times are faster, especially for schedules with multiple pages and columns. Additionally, changed appointments, blocks, and holds now update immediately.

  • Better visibility into time zones and time and date indicators, including scroll-to-future dates, simultaneous column scrolling, and current time marker.
  • New customization for columns, appointment types, and appointment holds.
  • New My Page view lets you add any column.
  • Updated Column and Provider views now include additional tools from the Day/Page view.
  • New search features and recurrence options speed up scheduling.
  • Linking to various Patient Information cards give faster access to locate and update information.
  • Group Appointment menu added for centralized patient management.

Cancel/No-show Appointments: $0.00 Fees Based on Carrier
You can now automatically charge $0.00 for a cancel or no-show (CNS) based on carrier. This upgrade helps you comply with various carrier policies and maintain accurate no-show records, differentiating between the types of CNS occurrences.

Cancel/No-show Appointments: Fee by Appointment Type
Use Charge Cancel/No-show (CNS) fees based on appointment type to ensure fees align with the value of missed appointments. For visits with multiple appointment types, we default the highest CNS fee. Customizing CNS fees by appointment type can help you track and recoup lost dollars.

Cancel/No-show Appointments: Automated Void & Delete for Reversals
When you clear a cancel or no-show or CNS status from an appointment, the related charge automatically is voided and the CNS note is deleted, even if your role doesn’t have permission to void transactions. This empowers schedulers to independently manage CNS status changes, while maintaining safeguards around who can void unrelated charges.

Demographics Dark/Light Mode
Select dark mode or light mode as your default view within Demographics Card Layout screen. Although some UI elements remain light-mode themed, this update offers a softer visual experience and sets the stage for future enhancements.

Analytics & Reporting: Insights
The new View Insights option lets you add a dashboard view that highlights data relationships, patterns, trends, and variations. These insights help you better understand raw data and turn it into clear, actionable intelligence.

Analytics & Reporting: AI Narrative Insights
Narrative Insights uses artificial intelligence to interpret key data patterns in a narrative form on your dashboard, explaining trends, highlighting possible causes, and uncovering data relationships. Narratives update automatically whenever underlying chart data changes.

Analytics & Reporting: Forecasts
You can now view forecasted outcomes directly in Analytics & Reporting. Using your historical data, AdvancedMD generates time‑series models that help you visualize estimates, understand trends, and make more confident, data‑driven decisions.

Analytics & Reporting: Additional Visualizations
Six new visualizations are now available for you to add to the dashboard. You have more ways to see and understand your data using box plot, dual axes (columns or line), radar, tornado, and drop-down lists.

Provider System Settings Enhancements
You can now hide non‑required fields to make new‑provider setup faster and more efficient. You can also apply additional filters, and default information from one or more groups. These upgrades promote faster, more accurate data entry.

Validation to Prevent Duplicate Provider Profiles
We have added validation to the Providers (Professional) system settings to prevent the creation of duplicate provider profiles and help you keep accurate provider records.

ERA Rules Enhancements
New ERA rules enable split-claim and day-rate preprocessing to help expedite payment posting through the ERA Center. Preprocessed payments are marked as ‘OK to Process’ without manual corrections. For split-claim payments, the ERA rule combines the separate line items received from insurance. For day-rate payments, the ERA rule evenly distributes the payment and adjustment across all visit line items, rather than targeting specific line items listed in the remittance. This occurs when the allowable amount surpasses the charge amount for a single line item for primary insurance.

Practice Management Beta Feature

Fee Schedules by Locality
You can now specify charge and allowable fees by geographic locality. You can set provider type fees per locality. You can also import fee schedules with locality data. Once you create your localities, you can associate them with a facility or facility-carrier ID to apply the custom charge or allowed amounts automatically. This update makes it easier to maintain accurate, locality‑specific billing and reimbursement rates.

Platform & Security

Password Breach Detection
For our entire suite of medical office solutions, we’ve increased security by adding password breach detection, to ensure compromised passwords from a data breach cannot be used when setting or resetting your password. When a compromised password is detected, you are now prompted to reset your password.

Electronic Health Records

AI Clinical Assistant: Ambient Listening & Transcription
Ambient Listening and Scribing can help automate clinical documentation tasks. You have the option to use AI to capture your conversation during the visit. You’re always in control and can record, pause, or stop recording at any time. We leverage a leading medical dictionary that is designed to understand medical language. AI filters speech for relevancy and speaker changes. After the visit ends, AI can generate your transcript into five full-dynamic note formats. AI Clinical Assistant is available for desktop, telehealth, and mobile.

AI Clinical Assistant: Action Items
Our AI Clinical Assistant can analyze your visit transcript and generate suggested action items for the patient chart, reducing manual data entry during or after each visit. Action items include problems, medical histories, allergies, medications, and lab orders. Action items include various note suggestions, such as chief complaint, reason for visit, or vitals.

Manage Requests from Pharmacy Benefit Managers
You can now receive and manage requests from Pharmacy Benefit Managers. Requests suggest new prescriptions or changes to existing therapies based on clinical insights, formulary updates, or cost-saving opportunities. This update improves care coordination, reduces gaps in therapy, and streamlines prescribing workflows.

Edit Narratives in Patient Notes
You can now edit the narrative document while completing your patient note. The new Edit Template feature opens the narrative in an editable HTML format. After you save your edits, the narrative can automatically generate and display as a PDF on the Narrative tab. This update can be useful when you want to call out or bold instructions or add information for the patient.

Important Note: To keep the integrity of the note, data pulled from note fields is not editable.

Value‑Based Care: Risk Adjustment Factor Scores
Patient Risk Adjustment Factor or RAF scores now appear in multiple areas of our EHR. A RAF score estimates a patient’s anticipated cost of care based on their health status and demographic information and is used in value‑based care models to adjust provider payments. Having RAF scores visible helps you identify patients with low scores, determine when additional visits may be needed to document diagnoses, and close gaps in care. Because missing diagnoses can lower patient RAF scores, this visibility also helps prevent financial impacts to your revenue.

Patient Engagement

Add to Calendar Links
Our new Add to Calendar feature gives patients a simple way to save appointment reminders. You can include Add to Calendar links with key patient engagement touchpoints including appointment reminders, telehealth, patient portal, and online scheduling. For telehealth visits, the calendar event also includes the Join Appointment link.
