Healthcare Big Data Veteran to Present at HIMSS16 on Top Trends in Private Practice: Benchmarking, Analytics & Telemedicine

AdvancedMD to highlight how emerging technologies used by large healthcare organizations can transform independent physician practices

South Jordan, UT – Feb. 29, 2016 – AdvancedMD, a pioneer in cloud technology for physician practices, announced today that Matt Barron, Senior Product Director, will be presenting at the HIMSS16 Conference & Exhibition, taking place from February 29 to March 4 in Las Vegas. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s annual meeting brings together over 40,000 health IT professionals focused on achieving better health and care outcomes through information technology.

Titled, “The Rise of Benchmarking, Analytics & Telemedicine in the Private Practice,” Barron’s presentation will discuss how physician clinics of all sizes can execute revenue cycle management improvements via benchmarking and analytics and how virtual health telemedicine encounters improve patient care and retention by increasing appointment flexibility. The session will take place on Tuesday, March 1 from 2:30 – 3 p.m. PST in Sands Expo Convention Center, session RC07.

“In today’s healthcare market with slim operating margins, managing the revenue cycle through emerging technologies is critical not only for enhancing a physician practice’s financial performance, but also for improving patient experience and retention, and delivering high-quality care at the right time,” says Barron. “HIMSS16 attendees can expect to learn about many cutting-edge tools to transform independent physician practices.”

Addressing analytics and telemedicine
The presentation will highlight the importance of identifying both industry and practice benchmarks and how this knowledge can impact the revenue cycle. An analytic intelligence overview will pinpoint the practice’s most relevant data for overall improvement of the cycle. For example, a practice may benchmark the time it takes payers to process claims, revenue by a physician and profitability of different procedures.

“Once a practice knows where it stands as compared to their specialty peer group, it is motivated to improve specific areas that will have the most impact on its financial health,” says Barron.
