AdvancedMD Announces Launch of Patient-managed ePayments

Ambulatory medical practices and billing service companies now able to reduce days in A/R with unified bill-pay reminders, online statements & convenient auto-debit plans.

South Jordan, UT – August 21, 2018AdvancedMD, the pioneer of Rhythm™, a unified cloud platform of smart clinical, billing and patient applications that automate tasks for all roles of the practice as well as patients, announces the general availability of ePayments, which facilitates electronic payments to help practices collect outstanding patient balances and reduce aging A/R more quickly and conveniently. ePayments is available through two intuitive online services – the AdvancedMD patient portal and a new standalone payment portal. Both allow patients to easily make credit card payments; the patient portal gives access to past statements for tax purposes.

As part of the AdvancedPatient suite of patient engagement solutions, ePayments is integrated across the AdvancedMD Rhythm cloud platform, giving the fastest way to collect patient payments, send patient reminders, manage alerts and track payments. Automation triggers a text or email payment notification reminder, based on the patient’s communication preference at intervals the practice sets. Patients receive a clear picture of what is owed and have a convenient way to pay either through their Smartphone or a desktop browser.

“This revolutionary patient payment suite includes everything needed to manage patient payments with all the popular self-help features that patients expect,” explains Arman Samani, AdvancedMD CTO. “Patients can easily access their outstanding balance, pay in full, submit a partial payment or see their now-due amount from a payment plan and it’s offered as part of our comprehensive Rhythm platform. This allows patients to pay their bills faster with confidence.”

Front office and billing staff can use ePayments to expand ways they’ve traditionally collected patient payments: online patient portal, in office, and phone-in payments. ePayments also makes it easy to set up hardship payment plans. AdvancedMD supports multiple patient statement options: online, an automated print and mail service, or practices can print in-office, stuff and mail.

“We have seen amazing time-to-payment with ePayments and we absolutely love how easy it is to use,” said a Mass.-based billing service. “Payments are rolling in and patients love the online statements. We’re excited to roll it out to all of our clients.”

“[Our] patients are very well-educated and well-informed, and they want to see results quickly. The practice has to run extremely efficiently and be accessible to them. The nice thing about [AdvancedMD] is it has allowed me to be more efficient both in and out of the office. Now I don’t have to come back into the office, which is great for my family and everything else. It saves me a lot of time – probably an hour a day on the three days I work in the second office.”
