Directional Drilling Your Practice Financials

eGuide

Accessing the deep insights within the deep data in your practice

Drilling for data insights in a medical practice is a lot like drilling for oil. Many practices rely on single ‘straight hole’ cuts of limited data and obtain limited insights as a result. Others have more robust data housed in separate systems that are either isolated or integrated in ways that make data sharing difficult, if not impossible.

To get broader insights, practice administrative staff must drill separate data holes straight into the pockets of richest information and then attempt to combine and aggregate everything together. It’s inefficient and costly at best, and more often impractical and not even attempted.

To help you out, we put on our bright orange hardhats with a hummingbird logo and created this helpful guide. We explore the fascinating world of big data in the context of private practice analytics. Don’t worry. We make it fun. We share why drilling disparate data pockets often results in manual workarounds and interruptions. We also share lots of ways to avoid chaos and frustration.

Here are two key concepts we discuss:

  • Functional elements of a successful data platform
  • Determining baseline reporting and dashboards

“The money I have invested in AdvancedMD is miniscule compared to the return. I have never been more efficient – ever – in my professional life as I am now.”

“[Our] patients are very well-educated and well-informed, and they want to see results quickly. The practice has to run extremely efficiently and be accessible to them. The nice thing about [AdvancedMD] is it has allowed me to be more efficient both in and out of the office. Now I don’t have to come back into the office, which is great for my family and everything else. It saves me a lot of time – probably an hour a day on the three days I work in the second office.”

Keith Berkowitz, MD
