Browser-based Document Scanning Module (PM)
We have enhanced the Document Scanning Module (DSM) for PM with additional functionality and updated the feature so it is now web-based rather than a down-loadable program. The improved browser-based DSM is an excellent tool for scanning and uploading batches of files. Additionally, because the new scanning module is a TWAIN application, you can now scan using webcams and other TWAIN devices, in addition to traditional scanners.

Document Scanning Module – Web for PM is being released in a staged roll out over the next several weeks. Additionally, in the coming months, we will be updating DSM for EHR. Until then, you can continue to use the current down-loadable version of DSM in EHR. Highlights of the added capabilities:

  • Two new output options – .tiff and .pdf
  • Multi-page scanning for .tiff and .pdf
  • Batch file import to PM and EHR
  • Image editing tools – rotate, flip, crop, and resize
  • Additional scanning resolution options

System Defaults (PM)
Use Default Filters on Claim Center Tabs
As part of our work to increase performance, you can now set the new Use Default Filters on Claim Center Tabs system default to No, so instead of automatically loading all claim errors into the Unbilled tab, you can now select to load one, two, or all claim errors.
Note: When the system default is set to No, the total number and Total Amount of claim errors will continue to display on the Unbilled tab.

Over the next few months, similar functionality and additional workflow enhancements will be rolled out to other tabs in the Claims Center.
The default for this system default is Yes, meaning all claim errors will continue to load in the Unbilled tab when you open Claims Center.
