Messages (PM)
Auto-Forward Update
We have updated the auto-forward functionality in Messages, so users can only change the Auto-Forward setting for their own account. If you select a user other than yourself, the auto-forward drop-down menu will be unavailable.
Patient Demographics (PM)
Ethnicity Default
We have updated the default for the Ethnicity drop-down so it now defaults to a blank value. Previously, the Ethnicity box defaulted to Hispanic or Latino.
Employer Field Hover
We have updated the Employer field in the Patient Information screen with a hover that displays employer information at-a-glance.
This enhancement only affects clients when the Employer Master File (Read Only) system default set to Yes. Contact Client Support Services to enable the Employer hover.
Patient Portal (PM)
We have updated the patient portal with newly designed Register, Log On, and Forgot Password screens and integrated the patient portal login process with Facebook® and
Google® login credentials. Patients can now link their portal account with their social media account and conveniently access their patient portal using their Facebook or Google account login information.
Important Note: Privacy is important. AdvancedMD® will only use social media account information to validate the patient’s identity. We will never access a patient’s profile or post to their social media account.

Require Subscriber ID System Default
We have added a new system default, Require Subscriber ID, that allows you to require the subscriber ID when you save insurance information on the Insurance tab. The default is No.
Reminder Card Address System Default
We have added a new system default, Reminder Card Address, that allows you to select the return address for appointment cards. Now you can default the return address for all reminder cards rather than changing them manually. The default is Provider.
Telemedicine Appointments (EHR)
You can now create Telemedicine appointments in the EHR. The AdvancedTelemedicine™ icon in the Chart toolbar opens a tab where you can create a Telemedicine appointment for the selected patient.
The Telemedicine appointment created is immediately displayed in:
- Chart Folders and Schedule in EHR
- Appointment Scheduler in PM
- AdvancedTelemedicine window in both EHR and PM.
The appointment is also added to the Appointment History in PM. You can manage the call and charge for the visit in the AdvancedTelemedicine window from either EHR or PM.

Managing Financial Classes (8:14)
Financial class settings are a powerful way to streamline your charge entry and payment posting processes and are also used to filter data on reports. You can use financial classes to default settings into Charge and Payment Entry screens, including whether a visit will be billed to a carrier, what fees are charged, and what monies will be written off. You can also create and customize financial classes for groups of payers and various contract situations. In this session we will walk through how to set up financial classes and assign them to patients, and how the information is used in charge entry, payment posting, and reports.
