Collections by Visit
A common practice for our clients is to split the A/R collections activity by patient vs. insurance collection types. This new collections by visit functionality gives our clients the ability to separate these efforts based on two different skill sets by the collector:
1. Patient balance collections require extraordinary customer service skills
2. Negotiating payment and/or payment plans

Insurance balances require skill in following processes, troubleshooting location of claims throughout the claim submission process, detailed knowledge of information required or included on the claim, and knowledge of the provider’s contract with the insurance company as well as claim filing process obligations. Some billing service clients take the collection of A/R a step further and collect by visit, rather than account, while still maintaining the patient or insurance balance separation.
