For 2022, patients will undoubtedly expect more accessibility and consumer options along the healthcare continuum. To make more informed healthcare decisions, patients and providers need better tools to provide greater visibility. As out-of-pocket costs continue to rise, so does the abandonment rate of medication – from 5% to 69% – depending on the costs encountered.
AdvancedMD is releasing a number of new features: 1) a robust script coupon program to help patients reduce costs, and 2) a prescription notification service.
DrFirst® is fully integrated in our EHR and offers the RxInform patient prescription notification service feature so you can send prescription notifications for both controlled and non-controlled substance as part of your ePrescribing workflow. This enhancement should greatly improve prescription fill rates and overall medical adherence. RxInform addresses the root-causes of prescription abandonment in the following ways:
- Encourages immediate action by sending prescription pickup reminders.
- Provides prescription, pharmacy, and refill details.
- Alerts patients to co-pay assistance and discounts (if and when available).
- Displays prescription drug educational content conveniently on patient cell phones.
You can now electronically send a prescription using RxInform which also notifies patients when a prescription has been filled by your office and is ready for pick up. This feature enhancement will be released on January 14 to a small number of clients and then to the rest of our client base in waves from January 18-21.
