Although telehealth has been used in healthcare for years, there’s no question it grew in 2020. In fact, it wasn’t until the pandemic and the efforts to minimize its spread did adoption surge.
Just how much did it grow?
“In the depths of the coronavirus shutdown, telehealth accounted for more than 40% of primary care visits for patients with traditional Medicare, up from a tiny 0.1% sliver before the public health emergency,” according to Modern Healthcare.
This is because solutions such as care management and remote patient monitoring offered providers the ability to deliver quality care without face-to-face interactions, allowing asymptomatic patients to stay safe at home while managing their conditions.
Discover which factors led to the widespread adoption of telehealth within the healthcare industry and how providers leveraged these solutions to deliver quality care in 2020.
