Summer 2017 Newsletter
The Intelligent Practice
Dear valued client:
I’m very pleased to announce that AdvancedMD has once again been named a leader on the 2017 FrontRunners Quadrant by Gartner and Software Advice. This particular award is for our mental health software category; however, it’s the second award we’ve received in 2017. More than 150 companies were evaluated, and we’re honored to receive such a prestigious award. Read more about our placement.
As we get closer to the AdvancedMD user conference, Evo17, I would like to personally invite you to this unbelievable event, scheduled for this September 20-24 in Nashville, TN. The agenda alone is reason to attend, but the entertainment and venue are exceptional.
You’ll have the opportunity to improve your knowledge on important practice workflow topics such as improving billing, coding, payment processing and reporting, and learn about the patient portal, telemedicine, HealthWatcher, all things related to MACRA and MIPS, and earn up to 10 CME/CEU credits. You’ll hear from Dennis Snow, an unbelievable keynote speaker, network with peers and the AdvancedMD team, get one-on-one help at the EvoExpert Hall, meet marketplace partners, help with future development, enjoy a historic destination and experience some truly exciting events.
Situated across from the Music City Center in downtown Music City, the venue is a one-of-a-kind experience, with an expansion of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on three levels. We’ll then rock out to Lonestar, who for more than 20 years have logged countless miles touring throughout the world, released several Platinum-selling albums and ten No. 1 singles, earned ACM and CMA awards and inspired countless rave reviews.
Don’t just take my word for it. Attendees from last year’s event have many fantastic things to say about the event and this year will only be better. Register now for Evo17 & save $100 per person.
Thank you for your continued business and support. Contact us with questions or suggestions and please share this newsletter with everyone in your practice.

State of the Union Address
AdvancedMD successfully hosted the first all-client State of the Union address.
Hundreds of clients attended and we heard from three members of our executive team: Raul Villar CEO, Arman Samani CTO, and Kelli Fender VP of Client Services. Content that was addressed during this call includes:
- 2016 achievement review
- Upcoming product enhancements & roadmap
- Changes to client & professional services
The conversation sparked dozens of questions. All questions and answers and the video and slides are posted on NEST. We’d love your feedback on how to make these calls more meaningful and helpful. Please help guide our future calls by taking a 2-minute survey.
Product & Engineering Updates
So far in 2017, we’ve made 22 enhancements from your input through IdeaShare on NEST. Three areas where we’ve continued to focus our efforts include: 1. Minimizing day-to-day challenges through new products and feature enhancements, 2. Maintaining a strategic direction to the products we create and 3. Improving our platform stability.
Recent Product Enhancements
Patient Status
We’ve added deceased, collections and discharged to patient demographics, which enable you to be more efficient in your patient search and patient roster for reporting on your patient population.
Carrier CPID
We’ve added CPID to carrier search and a grid that improves the quality of selecting the appropriate carrier for a specific patient. Now there’s no need to open the master file for payers to verify which carrier is setup with which CPID, allowing for cleaner claims and less denials.
New & Upcoming Releases
Posting Unapplied Patient Payments
Allows a patient payment to automatically apply for A/R reporting and patient refunds.
Editable payments (not void)
Helps you edit payment mistakes, instead of voiding them, to simplify your accounting and record keeping.
Browser Agnostic
Now you can run AdvancedMD on our entire suite of integrated technologies using Safari and Chrome (Mac & PC) and Internet Explorer (PC only).
AdvancedScheduling
We’ve revamped this technology with improved aesthetics and workflow, with more than five columns. We’re about to release the ability to create templates.
AdvancedTelemedicine
AdvancedTelemedicine has become an essential part of integrated workflow for many of our clients. AdvancedScheduling automates all the follow-up communications to the patients as soon as you select the telemedicine appointment checkbox. Our next release includes patient portal telemedicine appointment scheduling.
AdvancedPatient
Practices are experiencing great success with automated patient appointment reminders. We are now enhancing the patient response portion that allows your patients to respond easier. Practices increase show-up rates by 10-12 percent, saving between $100-150 per missed appointment when automated reminders are used.
Online Scheduling (coming soon)
After a potential patient searches for you or your practice on Google, they can click on your website link and go directly to schedule an appointment. You can customize the days, times and types of appointments you want to schedule from online.
New AdvancedEHR (coming soon)
Have you seen the new dashboard? It features a modern look and offers an enhanced workflow. Every screen, including the dashboard, conveniently presents your schedule on the left-hand side. You can even open multiple patient charts concurrently.
AdvancedRooming (coming soon)
An integrated desktop and mobile dashboard that presents the flow of your patients with a dashboard that helps you know which rooms your patients are in, who they’re waiting for, and how long they’ve been waiting.
Doctor Reputation Management (coming soon)
As your patient leaves, you can send them a survey to ask them about their experience. If good, it will prompt them to post their review, or if not good, find the reasons for their dissatisfaction, then highlight that information so you can act on it. This is part of the AdvancedPatient suite.
AdvancedEPCS (coming soon)
Electronic prescribing of controlled prescription substances is now available in AdvancedMobileDoc.
Stability & Performance
To ensure a positive experience without glitches or downtime, we’ve expanded our infrastructure and continue to regularly perform after-hours performance testing, deploy all releases after-hours and proactively monitor our performance with highly-sophisticated monitoring systems.
We want to make AdvancedMD even more helpful to your practice.
