I appreciate the many wonderful clients, marketplace partners and employees who made EVO16 such a successful event. Attendees experienced valuable opportunities to network with hundreds of peers who face the same successes and challenges you’re experiencing and integrate products offered by our partners to help your independent practice or billing service.
We met industry leaders and marketplace partners, and participated in 1:1 sessions with product experts and leaders. Based on the many conversations I had during and after the conference, the many sessions allowed everyone to not only increase their excitement about practicing independently, but also provided additional tools to make it easier and more rewarding to practice independently. The valuable 10 hours of ACMPE CEU credits were an added bonus.
Now that the conference is over, a couple of items I wish to emphasize are where AdvancedMD is focusing our energies, and what you can expect from us as your business partner.
Our mission, empowering healthy practices and healthy patients, is very simple, but powerful, and sums up our focus. There are four critical key elements that define our mission.
The first word is empowering. Empowering means AdvancedMD will provide you with the tools and expertise required to successfully navigate a very complex healthcare ecosystem. It means you can count on us to be ahead of the curve from a technology perspective and enable you to continue to thrive as a medical practice.
The second word is healthy. I think two components are critical with health: The health of your practice and the health of your patients. We will continue to help you to have a healthy practice where you can be financially successful and to drive the right profits for your entire business. Medical professionals really want healthy patients, but obviously need the resources required to continue to drive toward that mission.
The third word is practices and the fourth is patients. There is a convergence in healthcare, a consumerism that is upon us like many other industries, where patients are becoming more involved in their healthcare. As they are responsible for more and more of the bill, they care more and more about the healthcare directive. And so, ultimately our solutions will be geared toward both the patients and the provider. Many people expressed their excitement about the direction we are taking to successfully drive a healthy practice for both your providers and your patients.
As we discussed during the conference, AdvancedMD has some unbelievable solutions available for you to implement today and many more on the roadmap. This is a journey. It is not a destination and we are continuing to invest significant dollars in our product roadmap. You are going to see more and more products launch that will help your practice become even more efficient, effective and enjoyable.
Once again, thank you to all of our wonderful clients who attended EVO16. A special thanks to our marketplace partner sponsors for their support. We appreciate your willingness to spend a few days with us and for giving us your valuable time and support. We look forward to an even stronger attendance next year at EVO17 at the music capital of the world, Nashville TN.

New Products & Features
Innovation continues to drive us at AdvancedMD. The number one reason we innovate is to provide the latest technologies to our valued clients. We understand that top-performing independent physicians and billing services are looking to update their tools in order to meet changing times. Just this year alone, thousands of independent physicians and billing services are experiencing tremendous success by replacing outdated software with modern AdvancedMD technologies that integrate practice and patient workflow together for a revolutionary new practice experience.
If you have technologies that require an abundance of time or are outdated in functionality, such as a standalone EHR, determine now if it’s time to make an upgrade to an all-in-one solution. We have aggressive plans to shake things up this year, and with solid plans, highly qualified employees and many loyal customers who have been right where you are, we know we can help you improve patient engagement, operations and revenues.
We thank our many loyal clients who continually assist us through our advisory committee program by testing our many new products and features. Not a member? Consider participating if you have a strong background or interest in our clinical, billing, scheduling, patient relationship management or voice-of-the-customer technologies. You will have the opportunity to select which new products and enhancements are important to you and test them prior to launch.

A Message from RCM
Here are a few tips and tricks from your RCM client services department to expedite claim processing and reduce denials.
- Scan the patient’s insurance card into Chart Files. This makes follow-up on denials much quicker.
- Attach any outside referrals directly to the scheduled visit so the information will travel with the claim to the carrier to avoid denials.
- Complete and approve all items in Charge Review and Claim Inspector tabs within the Claim Center daily to reduce A/R days.
- Make sure you are reviewing and addressing any items sent to you on your Client Action Work Lists and remember to ‘Force’ the item back to RCM for claim processing.
- Post-patient co-pays using the Scheduler Collect Copay option so payments will be attached directly to a specified visit.
- Remember that putting a copay amount in the patients Insurance tab will automatically create a statement for this amount if not paid at the time of service – even before primary insurance is processed.
- Alternatively, you may add copay information to the notes field in the Insurance tab if a statement is not needed within 24 hours of the patients visit.

Introducing Your Implementation Team
Implementation Consultant
Erin started with AdvancedMD in 2012 and is currently an implementation consultant for our Direct Practice team. Erin is extremely dedicated to the success of the practices that she works with, and has a natural talent of personalizing the implementation experience for each. Here is some feedback we recently received from a practice administrator, “Erin definitely understands the workflow of an office and how AdvancedMD can simplify the process. Being a trainer on its own takes a talent of understanding how people learn, just to give her kudos seems so little for how amazing she is as a trainer. She communicates clearly, took time to learn my background and knowledge and truly met me on my level of experience.” We are lucky to have Erin on our team.Erin lives just 10 minutes from the beach in Florida. She loves to run and is currently training for her 15th half marathon. She dedicates her time outside of work to her two kids and service. Her husband serves as a Special Missions Aviator in the USAF, recently returning from his 14th deployment. Last year her daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, Erin has become a huge advocate in her community for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), in support of her daughter and other families.

Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic
2015 Video Contest Winner
Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic, a provider of comprehensive foot and ankle care with five locations throughout the Kansas City area, won first prize in the AdvancedMD Customer Video Contest. As the grand prize winner in the medical practice category, Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic is the recipient of a marketing campaign valued at $10,000.
In its winning submission, Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic founder Dr. Brooks Young explained that the practice had experienced numerous challenges as a result of unreliable and, at times, inoperable software that necessitated more of his involvement in operational and administrative matters and kept him from spending more time with patients.
As part of its contest submission, Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic created a video case study of its business before and after implementing business solutions from AdvancedMD. Watch Jayhawk Foot & Ankle Clinic’s video submission.
